3rd Six Weeks (Wk 3) Science Fair Work Week

Welcome Back Everyone 
It is time to get off vacation mode and continue working on your Science Fair Projects. You only have this week to complete your Display Boards, so take advantage of the time I am giving you in class to finish the project.
Bring any required materials to class in order to decorate and glue the required typed texts.



Monday:   
·         Science Fair Project Work Day
o   Continue to assemble & Decorate display boards

Tuesday:
·         Science Fair Project Work Day
o   Finish typing Purpose, Hypothesis, and Materials
o   Begin typing  Data/Results/Analysis
o   Continue work on display board


Wednesday:
·         Science Fair Project Work Day
o   Continue typing required text
o   Complete Experiment


Thursday:
·         Science Fair Project Work Day
o   Continue working on Display Board
o   Must have most of the text complete and typed ready to glue on display board


Friday:
·         Science Fair Project Work Day
o   Final day to complete Science Fair Display Board
·         Should have all required information on the Display Board or ready to glue on the display board.

Monday:
Classification of Organisms
o Identify why and how scientists classify living things.
o Discuss Carolus Linnaeus’s contribution to classification.
o Describe the parts of the Scientific name
Genus name & Species name
o Definition of Taxonomy

Tuesday:
Classification of Living Things
o Textbook Assignment
o Chapter Review
Individual Assignment pg. 617 in Textbook

Wednesday:
How are organisms classified?
o List and compare the three domains of living things
o List and compare the four kingdoms of domain Eukarya
o List the eight levels of classification

Thursday:
Branching Diagrams and Dichotomous Keys
o Describe branching diagrams and dichotomous keys.

Science Fair Project Work Day

o   Relationship between cell and organisms
o   Explain why most cells are small in terms of surface area to volume ratio.



·         The Cell Theory
o   Explain the cell theory
Contributions to cell theory: Robert Hooke, Anton van Leeuwenhoek, Theodor Schwann, and Rudolf Virchow.




·         The Cell Theory
o   Compare unicellular and multicellular organisms


·         Compare the 2 types of cells
o   Compare prokaryotes and eukaryotes
o   Identify the parts that all cells have in common.
